In a letter to her Today staff, Hoda wrote, “As I write this, my heart is all over the map. I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one. You all are the reason why. They say two things can be true at once, and I’m feeling that deeply right now. I love you, but it’s time for me to leave the show.”
She went on to explain her reasoning: “My broadcast career has been incredibly meaningful, but a new decade of my life is ahead. My daughters and my mom need and deserve more of my time. I will miss you all dearly, but I’m ready and excited for what’s next.”
Hoda, who co-anchors NBC’s Today alongside Savannah Guthrie and co-hosts Today with Hoda & Jenna with Jenna Bush Hager, will continue in her role until early 2025. However, she reassured fans that she won’t be entirely stepping away from the network.“I’m happy and grateful to say that I plan to remain part of the NBC family, the longest work relationship I’ve been lucky enough to hold close to my heart. I’ll be around—how could I not? Family is family, and you will always be a part of mine.”
